How to ride the Peak Tram with kids without the meltdown
To avoid the massive crowds, buy your tickets online in advance and arrive at the Lower Terminus before 9:30 AM on a weekday. If you are traveling with a stroller, ask staff for the priority queue access to skip the steepest parts of the wait.
- Buy tickets online. Do not buy tickets at the window. Use the Klook app or the official Peak Tram website to purchase 'Skip-the-Line' or standard e-tickets. This saves you at least 30 minutes of standing in the sun.
- Pick the right side. When boarding, stand on the right side of the tram (the side facing the direction of travel). You get the best view of the skyline as the tram climbs.
- Manage the stroller. The tram floor is sloped. If you have a child in a stroller, you must be able to fold it quickly. If it's a large travel system, be prepared to carry it up the stairs to the platform.
- Time the descent. The queue for the downward journey is often longer than the way up. Plan to leave The Peak by 4:00 PM to beat the dinner-time tourist rush.
- Can I bring a stroller on the Peak Tram?
- Yes, but it must be folded. If your child is asleep, you will need to wake them up to fold the stroller to pass through the turnstiles and fit in the tram car.
- Is the Peak Tram worth it with a toddler?
- Only if you go early. If you wait in a 90-minute line, your toddler will hate it. If you go at 9:00 AM, it's a fun 7-minute ride.
