How to use the East Africa Tourist Visa for multiple countries
The East Africa Tourist Visa (EATV) is a single, $100 electronic visa that grants 90 days of access to Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda. You must apply through the online portal of the country where you intend to land first.
- Check your entry point. You must apply via the official immigration website of the country you are entering first (e.g., if you fly into Nairobi, use the Kenya eCitizen portal).
- Prepare your digital documents. You need a scanned copy of your passport (valid for at least 6 months), a passport-sized photo, and your travel itinerary showing entries and exits across the three countries.
- Submit the application. Fill out the online application, select 'East Africa Tourist Visa' from the visa type dropdown, and pay the $100 fee online. It usually takes 3-7 business days to process.
- Print your approval letter. Once approved, print the authorization letter. You must present this physical document at the border of each country you visit.
- Respect the 90-day limit. The visa is valid for 90 days total. It is a single-entry visa per country but allows you to move freely between the three nations as long as you do not exit the bloc.

- No. Tanzania is not currently part of the East Africa Tourist Visa agreement.
