Booking accommodation in Torres del Paine

You must book your campsites or refugios through two separate private operators, Las Torres and Vertice, at least 6 to 9 months in advance. There is no single central booking system, so you must secure your spot on both websites to complete your trekking circuit.

  1. Define your route. Decide if you are doing the 'W' trek (4-5 days) or the 'O' circuit (7-9 days). Plot exactly which campsites you need for each night, as you cannot 'wing it'—you will be denied entry to campsites if you don't have a reservation.
  2. Identify the operators. Las Torres Patagonia (formerly Fantastico Sur) manages the eastern side (Central, Chileno, Cuernos, Frances). Vertice Patagonia manages the western side (Grey, Paine Grande, Dickson, Perros). You will need to toggle between these two websites to book your full itinerary.
  3. Create accounts early. Create accounts on both the Las Torres and Vertice websites before booking opens. High-demand dates sell out in minutes when reservations launch for the season.
  4. Check availability and book. Search for your specific dates. If a site is full, check for alternative nearby campsites. Once you have a 'cart' on both sites, pay immediately. Reservations are not held in your cart for long.
  5. Print your confirmation vouchers. You are required to show your printed or digital vouchers at every park entrance and campsite check-in. Without them, you will be turned away.
Can I book everything at once?
No. Because the park is managed by two different private companies, you must coordinate your bookings across two different websites.
What happens if I can't find a spot?
Check the websites daily. Cancellations happen frequently. If you are desperate, look for 'all-inclusive' guided tours that have pre-purchased blocks of spots.
Do I need to carry food?
If you book a 'refugio' bed with full board, you don't need to carry much. If you are camping, you must bring a camp stove and all your own dehydrated food.
